Tony: Hey Penny, do you ever think about dreams?
Penny: I get dreams every night!
Tony: Not the kind we have when we’re asleep! But the kind that keep you awake at night, the real dreams! Dreams of life – excitement and full of hope.
Penny: Oh, yes! Sometimes…but not sure if I can share with you. What about you?
Tony: For me, it’s about cars and traveling around the world. I dream of driving across different countries, meeting new friends, and seeing the world.
Penny: But, is it good to have such dreams? What if they don’t come true? I get scared!
(Papa was quietly listening so far and suddenly responds).
Papa: Tony and Penny, dreams are the important part of our lives. Dreams are very powerful. If you have a dream, then you have a life. Without a dream, you’re just going through the ruts of life. Dreams are like the prayers of our life.
Penny: That’s a beautiful way to put it, Papa. So dreams aren’t just fantasies?
Papa: No, Penny. A dream is real. It has a mind, hunger, and passion. It’s our future waiting to be fulfilled. When you and Tony were born, your Mama and I felt like the most joyful couple on the planet because you two were our dreams.
Tony: Wow, Papa. So, dreams can really shape our lives?
Papa: Yes, Tony. Dreams help us shape our lives. Dreams help us decide our priorities.
Penny: But, what if dreams are bigger than our realities? Maybe they won’t get fulfilled? And then we will be depressed…
Papa: Dreams are never limited by our reality. Our present circumstances, education, family background, personal limitations, or surroundings are never limiting factors. Dreams go beyond what we are today, pushing us to think about what we want from life and helping us reach our highest potential. Dreams expand our reality. Dreams expand our presence.
Penny: But, does everyone have the potential to fulfil their dreams?
Papa: Yes, of course. We all are born in a particular family, but we all have the same ultimate origin. This origin is full of positivity and waiting to fulfil your dream. This origin wants to live life through your dreams.
Tony: Really? Do dreams have so much power?
Papa: Yes, the dream itself has huge power. The dreams attract enormous possibilities towards you. Our dreams drive us to become the best version of ourselves. Think about it: What’s your dream? Whether it’s becoming a successful corporate executive, leading your enterprise, achieving financial freedom, or living life to the fullest, everything is possible.
Penny: But what if daily life is too busy and there’s no time to work on your dreams? Maybe my dream is something different, and presently I am nowhere closer.
Papa: Just focus on the work you have right now. Your dream may be completely different than what you are doing right now. But that does not matter. Hold on to your dream with 100% faith. And, focus on your current work. Finish your current tasks and your current job – on a daily basis with complete dedication and effort. No cheating. No shortcut. Do what you need to do today until you can do what you want to do.
Penny: So, just holding on to our dreams can make a difference?
Papa: Yes, Penny. Protect your life’s calling – your dream – from the harsh realities of life and self-doubt. Have faith in yourself. Dreams are sacred. Once you start holding onto them, universal energies start working to make your dream come true.
Tony: So, no need to think of our limitations?
Papa: Life’s dream is not like any other dream. It is your real calling. And, if you get that, you are the lucky one. Not all get such dreams, but the lucky ones do. They can chase their dreams. Holding your dream in your heart is enough to make things move. When you hold your dream in your heart, it becomes super powerful. Opportunities will come, and you’ll find yourself in the right place, acquiring the skills you need. You may not be in the right job, but you will get in the right job. You may not be in the right profession, but you will get in the right profession. You may not have potential, but you will develop potential. You may not be in the right company, but you will develop the right friends. You may not be in the right town, but you will land in the right town.
Grandpa: That reminds me of a story. The 11-year-old boy who wanted to play football? His father helped him every step, but then one day both of them realized that this little boy had Growth Hormone Deficiency Syndrome. He couldn’t develop and grow like any other football player. No football club wanted to have him. But that didn’t stop the little boy. He kept dreaming and developed his skills. His dribbling style was so unique that this little boy never gave up on his dream and eventually became the No. 1 football player in the world. Do you know whom I’m talking about? – Lionel Messi!
Tony: Really? That’s inspiring! Messi is my favourite player. But I wasn’t aware of his story. He surely had dreams, and he made history despite all odds.
Papa: Exactly. Life isn’t limited by our realities but expanded by our dreams. Dreams aren’t limited by age. Even people in their 80s have dreams about their life and the crazy ones are those who achieve it.
Mama : So, what’s your dream, Penny?
Penny: My dream is to explore every corner of nature, get into entrepreneurship, and share my adventures with the world.
And you, Tony?
Tony: My dream is to drive the coolest cars and make car designs more efficient and environmentally super sustainable.
And yours, Papa?
Papa: My dream is to see you both achieve your dreams and live joyfully. Remember, my dear s, hold onto your dreams. Your dreams are the keys to living a fulfilling life.
