Jan Stenbeck

Jan Stenbeck is a Swedish Entrepreneur.  Sumit closely worked at the Investment company formed by Jan Stenbeck in Sweden.  Stenbeck’s business philosophy was about thinking big and taking risks, often betting against the conventional wisdom. He encouraged his companies to embrace change and adapt quickly to new environments.  He redefined how business should be done.  He was instrumental in transforming industries, particularly telecommunications and media, by breaking monopolies and creating new market dynamics that continue to shape business today.  One of his most notable contributions was in the telecommunications industry, where he helped dismantle the state monopoly in Sweden. His company Tele2 became a trailblazer in offering affordable telecommunications services, challenging traditional practices. His approach was bold—he didn’t just accept the way things were, he sought out opportunities to innovate and disrupt. This mindset extended to his media ventures, where he launched Sweden’s first ad-supported TV channels and founded the global free newspaper Metro. His ventures brought accessibility to a wide range of industries and audiences, from telecommunications to media and beyond.  Sumit worked and studied all the venture companies formed by Mr. Jan Stenbeck – Tele2, Metro, MTG, Millicom, Transcom and internet ventures.  Sumit learned how to navigate the competitive world of business by prioritizing growth and impact over tradition and comfort.  Sumit learned that transformative success often requires bold decisions and thinking beyond the boundaries of what’s currently possible.  This has helped a lot to form 108 Springboard.
